Well, we did it! My husband and I went on an 8 day Viking River Cruise through the Bordeaux region in France for
our 25th Anniversary. Chateaux + Wine(+ wine + wine). Anticipating the heat wave, I decided only to pack natural
fiber clothing, a few pair of comfy walking sandals, scarves, packable hats and of course my Zoé DuFour Collection jewelry.
Everything was packed in my trusty carry on! Although it ended up being checked through, it was nice to know I could
do it and had the expandable part ready for the return home knowing I was going to bring a few gifts back.
Here is the list of what I packed:
2 Skirts ( JCrew)
1 Cotton Gauze Midi Dress (Joeleen Torvick) worn belted and w/o
1 Maxi Dress (Rachel Pally)
2 Scarves (Patreusse + BR)
2 Straw Hats (JCrew)
5 Knit Tees (Madewell + Vince)
1 White Cotton Statement Blouse (Tibi)
Chiffon Top + Silk Wide Leg Lounge Pants
1 Rain Anorak + Lulu leggings
1 Cardigan
1 Sleepwear
1 Black leather belt (J Crew)
Sneakers
4 pr. sandals (Naturalizer/pictured, Born, Clarks and BR gold slides for evening ... too many?)

When traveling or planning for clients, I plan my wardrobe and accessories and an idea of where and when they'll be worn. That way time is not wasted trying to decide what to wear. Jewelry is also planned with each outfit. Since the pieces are interchangeable it's fun and easy to create a new look!
Evenings on the ship were fairly casual and most of the time we came back from our excursion and right to dinner.
There were three evenings I changed and added my Flora + Fauna statement earrings.
Another key to packing stress free is starting early. Make notes, keep and eye on the weather and dedicate a spot in your closet to the pieces you’re considering bringing. Then edit. On my final packing day I took out a couple of pieces I didn’t think I’d need( and I was correct).

First layer, shoes. Second layer, folded my clothing and stacked and toiletries. Maxi dress folded and slipped into inside zipper. Rain anorak and cardigan on the outside. One hat folded and packed on top, one in my tote. Done!
